Contact Trash-Pickup.org

Whether you’ve spotted an error in one of our city articles, know a local rule that isn’t covered yet, want to suggest a city we should add, or just have a question — we want to hear from you. Reader feedback is the single biggest reason our city pages stay accurate year after year.

⚠️ Before you message us — read this first

We are not a city government, waste hauler, or trash pickup service. We cannot schedule your trash pickup, dispatch a bulk-item truck, replace your cart, or refund your bill. If your pickup was missed or your cart is broken, contact your city’s 311 line or the waste department phone number listed on your city’s Trash-Pickup.org article. We’re an independent editorial site that documents each city’s schedule — we don’t operate the service.

For Urgent Trash Pickup Problems — Contact Your City Directly

Trash-Pickup.org cannot pick up your trash, replace your cart, schedule a bulk item, or refund your utility bill. If your issue is urgent — a missed pickup, a broken cart, a billing problem, illegal dumping, or a hazardous waste question — contact your city’s waste department directly. These numbers are maintained and answered by real municipal staff:

  • Most US cities: Dial 311 (works as a non-emergency line in 200+ cities)
  • Most Canadian cities: Dial 311 (Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and others all use 311)
  • Small towns without 311: Check the “Contact” section of your city’s Trash-Pickup.org article — each article lists the direct municipal waste department number for that jurisdiction

How to Write a Good Correction Report

If you’re reporting an error on one of our city articles, these tips help us verify and fix it faster — which means the correction goes live sooner for every other resident searching the same information:

  1. Paste the URL of the page. Not just “your Denver page” — copy the full link from your browser address bar so we know exactly which article to review.
  2. Quote the specific line that’s wrong. “The article says ____, but the actual rule is ____” is the fastest way to get a fix approved.
  3. Link a source. If the city changed a rule, link to the city webpage, a flyer, an email you received, or a news article. Even a screenshot helps.
  4. Tell us your city. Rules change by neighborhood in some cities (Toronto, Columbus, Philadelphia). The specific neighborhood or ZIP matters.
  5. Expect a reply. If you leave your email, we’ll confirm the correction is live within 48 hours — or explain why we kept the original text (rarely happens, but occasionally the city’s website says two different things).

Frequently Asked Contact Questions

Can you help me schedule a trash pickup or bulk item collection?

No — we’re an independent editorial site, not a waste service. To schedule pickup, contact your city’s 311 line or the waste department listed on your city’s Trash-Pickup.org article. Every article has the verified municipal phone number.

How do I report a missed trash pickup in my city?

Call your city’s 311 (most US and Canadian cities) or the waste department number listed on your city’s Trash-Pickup.org article. Report within 24 hours of the missed pickup for the fastest response. We cannot file missed-pickup reports on your behalf.

Do you cover every city in the US and Canada?

We currently cover 800+ cities and counties across the US and Canada, prioritized by population. If your city isn’t covered yet, use the form above or email editors@trash-pickup.org and we’ll add it to our research queue. Typical turnaround is 2–3 weeks for new city pages.

I spotted a broken link — how do I report it?

Use the contact form above, select “Report an error or outdated info” as the topic, and paste both the Trash-Pickup.org article URL and the broken link. We re-test every outbound link quarterly, but reader reports help us catch breaks between cycles. Fixed within 48 hours.

Can I contribute an article or write about my own city?

We don’t currently accept guest-written city articles because of our editorial verification process — every article has to be built from our own research against official sources. However, we welcome local insider tips, corrections, and factual details from residents who know their city’s system firsthand. Email editors@trash-pickup.org with what you know and we’ll verify and incorporate it, with credit if you’d like.

Do you accept paid coverage, sponsored articles, or hauler advertising?

No paid editorial coverage. We do show third-party display ads (Google AdSense) and may include clearly marked affiliate links in specific sections — but no city, county, hauler, or junk-removal service can pay to influence which facts we publish or which phone numbers we recommend. For partnership questions, email hello@trash-pickup.org.

How do I submit a DMCA or legal takedown request?

Email legal@trash-pickup.org with the full URL of the allegedly infringing content, the original work, and proof of rights. We respond to valid DMCA requests within 7 business days. Bad-faith takedown attempts may be publicly documented.

How do I request deletion of my personal data (GDPR / CCPA)?

Email legal@trash-pickup.org from the email address you originally contacted us from. Include “Data Request” in the subject line. We respond within 30 days as required under GDPR and 45 days under CCPA. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
