Frisco Bulk Trash Pickup, Garbage Schedule & Large Item Guide 2026
This guide is built like a Frisco resident’s real cleanup checklist: how to reserve bulk pickup, what counts as one item, why boxes and trash bags are not bulk, what the 5-item rule means, where to place furniture, how holidays delay service, and where to take extra trash, HHW, electronics, metal, yard waste and cardboard when curbside pickup is not the right option.
Enter your ZIP code below — we'll take you straight to your city's official schedule. No searching, no confusion.
Frisco bulk trash pickup garbage schedule is monthly by area and must be reserved. The City accepts up to five bulky items for your once-a-month bulk pickup. Bulk pickup happens on your regular trash and recycling service day during the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th service week of the month, depending on where you live.
To get bulk items collected, fill out the official online form and reserve a spot before the list closes at 12 p.m. noon on the business day before service. Place approved items where your regular trash and recycling carts are serviced, either curbside or alley side. Crews cannot go onto private property.
Frisco Bulk Trash Pickup Schedule — How to Find Your Monthly Bulk Week and Reserve Collection
Frisco bulk pickup is not a “put anything outside anytime” program. The City created it for items too large to fit inside the trash cart, and residents must reserve a spot on the bulk pickup list. The list closes at noon on the business day before your scheduled bulk service day.
Your bulk week depends on your address. Frisco says bulk waste pickup is offered on your regular recycling and trash pickup day during the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th service week of each month. To find your bulk week, use the City’s interactive GIS map and turn on the Bulky Waste Pick-up layer under City Services.
Find your regular trash and recycling day
Use the City map or MyFRISCO resources to confirm your weekly trash/recycling day. Bulk pickup follows that same weekday, but only during your assigned monthly bulk week.
Find your bulk week
Open the City’s GIS map and select the “Bulky Waste Pick-up” layer. Your address will show whether you are a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th service week location.
Submit the online bulk pickup form
Reserve your spot before noon on the business day before service. Do not drag items out first and assume crews will take them.
Place items where carts are normally serviced
Put approved items at your normal trash/recycling service location, curbside or alley side. Crews cannot enter garages, yards, driveways or private property.
Official booking: Schedule your bulk pickup through the City page before placing items outside.
Open Bulk Pickup PageFrisco Bulk Pickup Accepted Items — Furniture, Carpet, Cabinets, Small Wood Sections and Fencing Limits
Bulk pickup is for individual items too large for the black trash cart but still small and light enough to fit inside the trash truck. The City limit is up to five bulky items per monthly pickup, and an item cannot be longer than six feet in any direction or weigh more than 50 pounds.
- Furniture that is too large for the black trash cart.
- Carpet, subject to size limits.
- Kitchen cabinets and counter tops in limited sections.
- Wood poles under 4 feet.
- One 6-foot section of fencing per month, no concrete.
- One pallet no longer than 6 feet, when handled under current bulk rules.
- A single separate object counts as one item.
- If a desk is broken into two sections, it counts as two items.
- Trash in boxes or bags is not accepted as bulk.
- Loose piles are easier to reject than clearly separated items.
- Label or group items neatly so crews can identify the scheduled items.
- Keep the pile accessible without blocking traffic, sidewalks or carts.
Resident rule of thumb: If you can bag it, box it, recycle it, drop it at the ECC, or put it in the black cart, it probably is not a true bulk item. If it is a single large household object, it is more likely to qualify.
Items Frisco Bulk Trash Will Not Take — Boxes, Bags, Electronics, Appliances, HHW, Construction Debris and Extra Trash
A lot of Frisco pickup mistakes happen because residents treat bulk pickup like a free junk-removal service. It is not. The City specifically excludes household hazardous waste, electronic waste, recyclable materials, large metal items, construction or remodeling waste, cardboard boxes and extra bags of trash.
- Refrigerators and freezers.
- Televisions of any size.
- Cardboard boxes.
- Trash in boxes or bags.
- Enclosed metal containers such as hot water heaters or helium canisters.
- Household chemicals, pool chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides.
- Electronics, batteries, computers and cell phones.
- Construction and remodeling debris.
- Automobile parts, tires, tree limbs, stumps and root balls.
- Use the Environmental Collection Center for electronics, HHW, cardboard, batteries, oil, Styrofoam and special recycling.
- Use Custer Road or Parkway Transfer Station for extra trash drop-off with required ID and bill.
- Use 121 Regional Disposal Facility for construction/remodeling debris with proper authorization.
- Use paid Waste Connections service for extra cart service or special removal quote.
- Use private hauling for apartment move-outs or very large cleanouts.
Important: Extra bags of trash are not bulk items. The City lists paid extra cart service options, free transfer station drop-offs twice per month for eligible residents, and private/paid hauling as better options for extra bags.
Frisco Garbage Pickup Schedule — 95-Gallon Black Cart, 7 AM Set-Out and Missed Pickup Rules
Residential trash service in Frisco is provided by Waste Connections. Curbside trash is picked up once each week, and the base residential trash rate includes one 95-gallon black collection cart per single-family residence.
- Roll the cart out by 7 a.m. on your trash day.
- Place handles facing the house.
- Place the lid opening away from the street.
- Keep carts at least 3 feet apart and away from obstacles.
- Bag trash to prevent litter.
- All trash must fit inside the cart with the lid fully closed.
- Items outside the cart.
- Cart overloaded so the lid cannot close.
- Wrong-facing cart or blocked cart.
- Electronics, batteries or HHW in the trash.
- Yard waste or recyclables in the trash cart.
- Construction debris, tile, tires or automotive products.
Too much weekly trash? Call Waste Connections for a quote at 469-452-8000, ask the City about increasing residential service, or use eligible DIY drop-off options. Do not put overflow bags beside the black cart unless a special service has been arranged.
Frisco Recycling Schedule — Weekly Blue Cart, Accepted Items, No Bagged Recycling and Cardboard Drop-Off
Frisco curbside recycling is also provided by Waste Connections and is collected once per week on the same day as trash. Recyclables go in the 95-gallon blue cart. Bagging recyclables is no longer needed, and bagged recyclables can create sorting problems.
- Glass bottles and jars.
- Newspapers and magazines.
- Plastic bottles and jugs.
- Aluminum cans and food cans.
- Cardboard boxes.
- Paperboard boxes, mail and paper.
- Non-shiny wrapping paper without glitter.
- Shredded paper in a paper bag.
- Bagged recyclables.
- Beverage cartons and clamshell containers.
- Paper coffee cups.
- Garden hoses, chains and hangers.
- Construction materials.
- Food waste, tissues, ceramics and drinking glasses.
- Styrofoam, plastic bags and household batteries; take these to the ECC instead.
Cardboard overflow tip: Flatten cardboard and place it inside the blue cart. If you have too many boxes after moving, use the Environmental Collection Center cardboard trailer or ask the City about the one-time new move-in cardboard courtesy pickup.
Frisco Yard Waste Pickup — Paper Bags, Bundles, 10 Bag Limit, Tree Limbs and Holiday Trees
Residential yard waste is collected once per week on the same day as trash and recycling. Yard waste is composted through a separate program, so it should not go in the black trash cart or blue recycling cart.
- Have bags and bundles out by 7 a.m.
- Place yard waste 2 to 3 feet away from carts and obstacles.
- Use compostable paper bags only.
- Bundle limbs with rope or twine.
- Residents may place up to 10 bags or bundles each week.
- Paper bags must weigh less than the practical handling limit for crews.
- Cut limbs into 3-foot lengths.
- Bundle with compostable rope or twine.
- Bundle weight must not exceed 30 pounds.
- Place bundles 3 feet away from carts.
- No tree stumps, roots or root balls.
- No dirt, soil, mulch, pallets, fencing or concrete in yard waste.
Tree company warning: The City does not have a program to remove whole or large portions of trees. If you hire a tree company, confirm haul-away before work begins. Leaving cut trees on your property or street can create code problems.
Frisco 2026 Holiday Trash Schedule — When Trash, Recycling and Bulk Service Move One Day Later
Frisco does not provide trash or recycling service on six holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your service day falls on or after one of those holidays in the same week, pickup moves to the next day. If the holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, the City says there is no delay in service.
| Holiday | 2026 Date | Day | Frisco Resident Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| New Year’s Day | January 1, 2026 | Thursday | Thursday and Friday routes should check one-day delay rules. |
| Memorial Day | May 25, 2026 | Monday | Monday through Friday routes move one day later that week. |
| Independence Day | July 4, 2026 | Saturday | No delay when the holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday. |
| Labor Day | September 7, 2026 | Monday | Monday through Friday routes move one day later that week. |
| Thanksgiving Day | November 26, 2026 | Thursday | Thursday and Friday routes should check one-day delay rules. |
| Christmas Day | December 25, 2026 | Friday | Friday route should check adjusted service instructions. |
Holiday tree rule: Live trees must be stripped of decorations, supports, lights, tinsel and wiring. Trees over 5 feet must be cut into sections no more than 4 feet long or 60 pounds each. Flocked trees are not accepted as regular tree recycling and require bulk scheduling.

Frisco Environmental Collection Center — Electronics, HHW, Styrofoam, Batteries, Oil, Cardboard and Special Recycling
The Environmental Collection Center at 6616 Walnut Street is the key place for special recycling and household chemical/electronics disposal. It is especially useful for items that are banned from bulk pickup or should not go in carts.
- Household batteries.
- Styrofoam and EPS foam that meets City guidelines.
- Plastic bags and film.
- Cardboard, flattened and cleaned of debris.
- Used motor oil and liquid cooking oil.
- Clothing and shoes donation collection.
- Mixed recycling in painted dumpsters during posted hours.
- Tuesday: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-6 p.m.
- Thursday: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
- Friday: 9-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

HHW safety: Bring chemicals in original containers when possible, make sure containers are not leaking, and do not leave items when the facility is closed or unattended. Illegal dumping at the facility can create enforcement problems.

Best for: Frisco homeowners, new residents, move-out users, bulky-item users, yard-waste users and residents unsure whether their item should go to bulk pickup, ECC, transfer station, HHW disposal or paid hauling.
If the City later publishes an official bulk pickup, recycling, yard waste, ECC, HHW or transfer-station video, it should be added here using the official embed URL only. Until then, use the official written City links below for exact schedules, item limits, fees, tickets and service alerts.
New to Frisco Trash Service — What to Set Up Before Your First Bulk Pickup or Move-In Cleanup
Frisco move-ins create a lot of cardboard, packing paper, broken furniture, Styrofoam, plastic film and extra trash. The mistake is to put all of it into a bulk pile. Frisco treats these materials differently, and using the right route prevents a missed pickup.
- Confirm your weekly trash and recycling day.
- Confirm your assigned monthly bulk week.
- Break down cardboard and use the blue cart or ECC cardboard trailer.
- Schedule the one-time move-in cardboard pickup if eligible.
- Take Styrofoam, plastic bags and film to the ECC, not the blue cart.
- Use bulk pickup only for qualifying large household items.
- City curbside rules may not apply to every apartment complex or private collection setup.
- HHW/ECC access may require a rent statement with matching driver’s license.
- Large move-out furniture may need property manager approval or private hauling.
- Do not leave items beside dumpsters without checking building rules.
- Ask whether your property is City-served, private-served or HOA-managed.
Best practical plan: Cardboard to ECC or blue cart, Styrofoam/plastic film to ECC, chemicals/electronics to HHW hours, furniture to scheduled bulk pickup, construction debris to authorized landfill route, and extra trash bags to transfer station or paid pickup.
