Quick Resident Answer
How do I find my Goodyear trash pickup schedule?

Goodyear trash pickup schedule garbage collection is address-based. Open the City of Goodyear Trash, Recycling and Bulk Pickup Services page, use the Waste Wizard / Calendar tab, enter your address, and print or save the address-specific calendar for trash, recycling, bulk pickup and HHW options.

Goodyear partners with Waste Connections of Arizona for same-day residential trash and recycling collection. Both containers are serviced once a week on the same day. Monthly bulk pickup is assigned by address zone and may fall on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th weekday pattern of the month.

Pickup Day Deadline

Goodyear’s waste schedule is easy only after you check the address-specific calendar. Weekly trash and recycling are same-day services, but monthly bulk pickup depends on your address zone. If you copy a neighbor from another subdivision or use an old paper calendar, you can easily put bulk out on the wrong week.

1

Open the official City trash page

Go to the City’s Trash, Recycling and Bulk Pickup Services page and use the Calendar tab. The Waste Wizard tool is the cleanest official path because it combines trash, recycling, bulk, alerts and item guidance.

2

Enter your exact Goodyear address

Use your service address, not only your ZIP code. Goodyear includes areas north and south of I-10, and different neighborhoods may have different bulk pickup assignments.

3

Save both weekly and monthly dates

Trash and recycling are weekly on the same day. Bulk is monthly, so save the monthly bulk day separately and set a reminder before placing large items curbside.

4

Use alerts and printed calendar

The City says residents can sign up for alerts and print a calendar. This is useful around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s service changes.

Official lookup: Use the Calendar tab on the City trash page to find trash, recycling, bulk pickup and HHW options by address.

Service Area

Goodyear Sanitation Service Area — South of I-10, North of I-10, Canada Village and Sedella

Before following any pickup schedule, confirm that your home receives City of Goodyear sanitation service. The City explains that sanitation service is required for single-family homes regardless of occupancy, but water and sewer providers can vary by location.

City Sanitation Applies To
  • Residents south of I-10 in ZIP code 85338.
  • Residents north of I-10 in ZIP codes 85395 and 85340 for sanitation.
  • Canada Village and Sedella communities for sewer and sanitation.
  • Single-family homes where City sanitation service is required.
Check Separately If
  • You live in an apartment, condo, HOA-managed community or commercial property.
  • You are north of I-10 and need water or sewer provider details.
  • You recently moved and containers are missing.
  • Your account is not active or the sanitation charge is unclear.

New resident shortcut: If you just moved in, start with the utility service application and make sure your active sanitation account is connected to the correct property. Missing or wrong-size containers are much easier to fix after the account is active.

Container Rules

Goodyear Trash and Recycling Container Rules — 65-Gallon, 95-Gallon, Spacing and Lid Rules

Goodyear lets customers choose 95-gallon or 65-gallon containers for both trash and recycling when signing up for service. The monthly fee is the same regardless of selected size. Containers belong to the City, are assigned to the address and are marked with serial numbers.

Do This Every Pickup Day
  • Place containers no earlier than 6:00 PM the day before pickup.
  • Place containers no later than 6:00 AM on pickup day.
  • Put containers in the street with wheels against the curb.
  • Do not place containers on the sidewalk.
  • Keep containers at least 3 feet apart.
  • Keep containers 5 feet from vehicles, mailboxes and fixed obstacles.
  • Remove containers by 6:00 AM the day after pickup.
Avoid These Cart Mistakes
  • Do not overfill the trash container.
  • Do not place trash on top of the container.
  • Do not place items next to or outside the container for regular trash pickup.
  • Do not leave the lid open; trash must fit inside with the lid closed.
  • Do not put hot ashes or hazardous materials in the container.
  • Do not take City containers with you when moving.

Extra containers and size changes

The City lists a monthly charge for each additional trash container and notes that multiple container size changes within a year can trigger a fee. The City can also provide a larger trash or recycling container when a resident repeatedly shows insufficient capacity through overflow, spillage or litter.

Odor-control tip: Bag and tie household garbage. The City also recommends washing containers, using baking soda or fabric softener for odor control, and keeping strong food waste refrigerated until the evening before collection when practical.

Recycling

Goodyear Recycling Pickup — Same Day as Trash, City Inspectors and What Not to Guess

Goodyear’s recycling container is serviced once a week on the same day as trash. The City’s container page says recycling inspectors travel to neighborhoods to check containers for non-recyclable items and may issue notices to educate residents when the wrong material is found.

Good Recycling Habits
  • Use the green recycling container only for accepted recyclables.
  • Keep recyclables loose unless the City item guide says otherwise.
  • Empty containers before placing them in recycling.
  • Use Waste Wizard when unsure about an item.
  • Keep the lid closed and the cart properly spaced from trash.
Do Not Put in Recycling
  • Lithium batteries.
  • Household hazardous waste.
  • Food waste or liquids.
  • Items the Waste Wizard says belong in trash, bulk or HHW.
  • Materials that create fire risk, worker injury or contamination.

Lithium battery warning: Goodyear specifically warns residents never to dispose of lithium batteries in trash or recycling containers. Use battery disposal guidance or HHW options instead.

Monthly Bulk

Goodyear Bulk Trash Pickup — Monthly Zone Schedule, 5th-Day Rule and Curb Placement

Goodyear bulk trash is for normal residential waste that is too large for regular trash or recycling containers. Bulk pickup is monthly and assigned by address zone, such as 1st Monday, 2nd Tuesday, 3rd Wednesday or 4th Thursday. A “5th day” of the month is never assigned for bulk pickup.

Accepted Bulk Examples
  • Furniture.
  • Appliances.
  • Large normal residential items too big for the cart.
  • Landscape material prepared within City rules.
  • Glass or sharp items only when sealed and labeled safely.
Not Accepted for Bulk Collection
  • Household trash that fits regular curbside collection.
  • Hazardous materials.
  • Large auto parts.
  • Boats.
  • Tires.
  • Oil.
  • Rocks, dirt or mulch.
  • Large glass items such as windows, doors and tabletops.
  • Construction, repair or demolition material such as roofing, drywall and concrete.

Bulk set-out timing and placement

Place bulk trash in the street next to the curb in front of your property. Do not block pedestrians, vehicles, mailboxes, poles, meters, cable boxes, electrical boxes or landscaping. Bulk material may be set out up to seven days before the scheduled bulk day, but the cleanest habit is to set it out after 6 PM the day before. Material set out after 6 AM on collection day may not be serviced.

Local resident tip: Keep small debris out of the bulk pile when possible. Goodyear says residents are responsible for cleaning up small debris that remains after collection. If something can fit in the regular cart, use the regular weekly service instead of making the bulk pile messy.

Holiday Schedule

Goodyear 2026 Holiday Trash Schedule — Only Certain Holidays Delay Pickup

HHW & Special Waste

Goodyear Household Hazardous Waste — Seasonal Pickup, Laveen Drop-Off and Battery Warning

Household hazardous waste should not go in the tan trash container, green recycling container or bulk pile. Goodyear offers seasonal residential HHW pickup for active Goodyear sanitation customers, and an alternative drop-off option in Laveen through ACTEnviro by appointment.

HHW Pickup Basics
  • Available to Goodyear sanitation customers with an active account.
  • Limit one pickup per residence per seasonal event.
  • Appointment required through Waste Wizard when the HHW tab is available.
  • Place items in boxes by category and mark the box “HHW.”
  • Place boxes in front of your garage door or carport by 6 AM on confirmed collection day.
  • Allow until 6 PM for pickup completion.
HHW Limits and Drop-Off
  • Paint and liquid limit: 10 gallons.
  • No single container larger than 5 gallons.
  • Total pickup weight limit: 20 pounds per household.
  • For heavier materials up to 70 pounds, use the Laveen drop-off option if eligible.
  • Call ACTEnviro at 602-842-9160 for drop-off appointments and directions.
  • Proof of residency and active sanitation account required.

Accepted HHW examples

Goodyear lists examples such as aerosol cans, antifreeze and automotive products, car batteries, oil and filters, fire extinguishers, gasoline in approved containers, household cleaners, CFLs and fluorescent tubes, mercury, oil-based paint, latex paint, rechargeable batteries, pesticides, insecticides, pool chemicals and propane tanks.

Not accepted through HHW pickup: ammunition, explosives, appliances, medical waste, landscape waste, radioactive materials and tires. Tires and appliances follow different disposal paths, so check the City page before loading your vehicle or placing items out.

Missed Pickup

Missed Trash Pickup Goodyear — What to Check Before Reporting a Service Issue

If your trash, recycling or bulk was not collected, first check timing, spacing, cart lid, address schedule, holiday impact and whether the item belongs in regular trash, recycling, bulk or HHW. Many missed pickups are really set-out or material-prep problems.

1

Confirm the address-specific schedule

Use Waste Wizard. Trash and recycling are weekly, but bulk is monthly and assigned by zone. A wrong bulk week can look like a missed collection.

2

Check the 6 AM deadline

Containers and bulk must be out by 6:00 AM on pickup day. Late set-out may not be serviced.

3

Check spacing and placement

Containers should be in the street with wheels against the curb, spaced at least 3 feet apart and 5 feet from obstacles. Bulk must be at the street/curb in front of your property.

4

Report through the City system

Use the City’s online Report a Problem system for a damaged container or missed pickup, or call Utilities Customer Service at 623-882-7887.

Official service issue path: Report damaged containers or missed pickups through the City’s online system.
