Thursday, January 1 had normal waste and recycling collection. TRCs and Home Chemical Collection Centers maintained their normal operating hours.
MLK Day
Monday garbage was suspended. Customers resumed Thursday, January 22. Only blue recycling carts were to be set out for scheduled Monday recycling.
Observed Independence Day
Friday garbage and bulky appointments stopped July 3, but blue-cart recycling continued. Facility closures occurred Saturday, July 4.

Miami-Dade Bulky Waste Pickup Schedule
County bulky waste is appointment-based. Each eligible single-family household receives two pickups per calendar year of up to 25 cubic yards each. The two entitlements may be combined into one pickup of up to 50 cubic yards.

Hurricane, Tropical Storm and Flood Collection Changes
Holiday rules do not override an emergency order. Miami-Dade may suspend collection, limit facilities or create a separate storm-debris program when roads or working conditions are unsafe.
Before a storm
Remove or secure outdoor objects and avoid creating a new bulky or vegetation pile immediately before strong winds.
Flooded streets
Keep carts out of floodwater, traffic lanes, canals and drainage paths.
