Newmarket Trash Pickup Schedule 2026: Quick Answer

Items too large for an approved garbage container require advance booking and one large-item tag per item. Do not place furniture at the curb before confirming the collection.

1. Identify the item category. Furniture and mattresses are large items. Metal appliances and white goods may use a separate category.
2. Purchase the correct tag. One tag is required for each separately collected item.
3. Call GFL at 1-866-421-5625. Provide the address, item name, quantity and upcoming garbage week.
4. Book by 11:00 a.m. Monday. This is the deadline for a same-week guarantee during the property’s garbage week.
5. Prepare each item safely. Disassemble heavy furniture, remove glass and keep each section manageable.
6. Stay within five booked items. Each item needs its own tag and must appear in the booking.

Assisted Curbside Collection

A resident may qualify when physically unable to move containers to the curb, no able-bodied person lives in the home and the property is a single-family home receiving Town curbside service.

Approved assistance can cover green bins, garbage and leaf or yard waste.

1. Complete the application and waiver. Describe the physical limitation and household circumstances.
2. Submit it to the Waste Program Coordinator. Email wasteexemption@newmarket.ca or mail it to Public Works, 1275 Maple Hill Court, Newmarket, Ontario L3Y 9E8.
3. Allow time for review. The Town aims to provide a decision within 10 business days.
4. Confirm the approved storage point. Collection staff need a clear and safe path.
